5.0 out of 5 stars Quick and easy setup, lightweight and no leaks, May 18, 2011
My girlfriend and I took the Drifter 3 out camping for the first time this past weekend and it was a pretty good test. It took longer to determine exactly where to put the tent than it did actually setting it up. The setup is simple and quick, even with the footprint (which is a good addition to protect the floor). I would estimate it took 5 to 7 minutes to get it set up and ready to go. Once set up, we set off for a short hike, about 20 minutes out a rumble of thunder was heard in the distance being unprepared for rain we headed back to the tent. For the next 20 hours it rained, misted or drizzled. Not a drop of water leaked in.

A few drops of water would land inside the tent when you opened the rain fly because of the location that the zipper stops but getting a few drops of water in a tent when entering or exiting shouldn't be unexpected, at least I don't think so given its compact size. In heavy rain I'm sure it would be worse but in general I try to avoid... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Tent For The Price, June 22, 2011

Compact, Light weight, easy to set up.

I bought this tent because I like the simple two pole design and I got two good recommendations from people who had owned and used it regularly.

I've only used it once, but it absolutely poured down rain the entire night that I used it. I woke up dry and therefore love the tent!

I also like the inside shelf in the ceiling area. It adds some nice extra storage space.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mostly Dry, October 29, 2010
Bought this tent to go camping in the mountains for my first time since childhood. Camped at 11,000+ feet in late October. Temps were 20F-40F. We got some high winds and around 2-4 inches of sleet/snow on the first night, and I actually felt some sleet hit my face periodically throughout the night through the rain fly, but not enough to make me significantly wet or cold. Not sure yet how it would hold up in heavier rain. I do love that it is extremely lightweight and a piece-of-cake to set up.
